Privacy Policy for Pill Remindly
Last Updated: January 11, 2026
Overview
Pill Remindly (“the App”) is a medication reminder and tracking application developed by Swiftful Dynamics. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have full control over your personal health information.
Data Collection and Storage
What We Collect
Pill Remindly collects and stores the following information that you provide:
- Medication Information: Names, dosages, strengths, instructions, and custom icons/colors for your medications
- Reminders: Scheduled times and frequency for medication reminders
- Dose Logs: Records of when you take, skip, or miss doses
- Side Effects: Any side effects you choose to log, including severity and notes
- Inventory Data: Medication quantities and low stock thresholds
How We Store Your Data
All data is stored locally on your device. Pill Remindly does not transmit your health information to external servers. Your medication data remains private and under your control.
- Data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your iPhone
- If you use the Apple Watch companion app, data syncs directly between your devices using Apple's secure WatchConnectivity framework
- No cloud servers or third-party services have access to your data
Camera Usage
Pill Remindly uses your device's camera solely for the Medication Scanner feature, which allows you to scan medication labels to auto-fill medication details.
- Camera images are processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework for text recognition
- On supported devices (iOS 26+), Apple's on-device Foundation Models may be used for intelligent text parsing
- No images are transmitted, stored, or shared — they are processed in real-time and immediately discarded
Notifications
Pill Remindly uses local notifications to remind you about:
- Scheduled medication doses
- Low inventory alerts
- Refill reminders
These notifications are generated and managed entirely on your device. We do not use push notification servers or collect notification interaction data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal health data to any third parties.
The only way your data leaves your device is:
- Share Report Feature: You can optionally generate and share a text-based medication history report via the iOS share sheet. This is entirely user-initiated.
- Apple Watch Sync: If enabled, data syncs between your iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's secure device-to-device communication.
Data Retention
Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it. You can:
- Delete individual medications, reminders, or logs at any time
- Use the “Delete All Data” option in Settings to completely remove all app data
- Uninstall the app to remove all associated data from your device
Children's Privacy
Pill Remindly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app
- Modify: Edit or update any information at any time
- Delete: Remove any or all data whenever you choose
- Export: Share your medication history as a report
Security
We implement security best practices:
- All data is stored using Apple's secure frameworks
- The app does not require user accounts or passwords
- No network transmission of personal data
- Camera data is processed locally and never stored
Third-Party Services
Pill Remindly does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
